The instore tour has been going fab, don't you think John? What about you, Marty? And how about my incorporation of the word "fab" into my vernacular? I'm thinking it stays, conjures up visions of the swinging '60s. I always wanted one of those sleek scooters. You can still see aging hipsters tooling around on them in Italy, you know.

I think next tour, we definitely need to stop over in Italy and pick one of those bad boys up.

Or hey Robin, when I get back to the city, we can totally check out little Italy and see if they have any. I mean, that sounds reasonable, right?

Hello Children! [Feb. 24th, 2005|10:30 pm]
The fan response to Here Come the ABCs DVD/CD release has been spectacular. We're taking the show on the road to fine bookstores all across America, so pile the kids into the minivan and head on out to see us. BYOPB&J please, just don't get any on the carpeting. Those steamvac bills are a bitch.

It has come to my attention that some critics have picked apart Robin "Goldie" Goldwasser's vocal performance on Who Put the Alphabet in Alphabetical Order? To those gatecrashers I say this - Robin's vocals have always rocked the hell out of my proverbial socks, no matter the range they're in. Everyone should totally check out her rendition of Louie, Louie sung completely in Yiddish, within the acoustic confines of the shower, no less. Always an experience.

Tour Update. [Sep. 26th, 2004|03:03 pm]
SC is cool. Everyone should come out and see us tonight, we'll be bringing down the house here in the Palmetto State with our groove machine (patent pending in 48 of the 50 states).

Peace,
Flansy.

It's Kickin' In [Jul. 19th, 2004|02:25 pm]
[mood |tiredtired]

Wow, the past few days have just flown by. Austin was great, if not tiring, and both nights at Dallas were - if possible - even better. Part of me lives for the constant excitement of being on the road, the exhilaration of performing every night to a packed venue in a new city. Then the other part of me, the part that's a 44 year old man who wouldn't get through the day at this pace without constant ingestion of caffeine, lives for the breaks. We've got tonight off before our last show in Texas at Meridian in Houston. I think this rest will be good for all of us, we're starting to show signs of being a little haggard. I'm getting exhausted, Linnell's been having headaches, and the Dans are fighting just a bit too much.

Ah well, that's what you get, y'know?

Austin [Jul. 16th, 2004|06:00 pm]
[mood |cheerfulcheerful]
[music |going over the setlist in my mind]

The soundcheck just ended, and I'm back on the bus, throwing back a beer and typing this up. I just found my iBook, I don't even remember bringing it. Robin must've snuck it onto the bus before we left for the first show... which means Weinkauf and Miller were probably screwing around with it all this time. I wonder if they've left any weird porn on it like they did to my Mac at home? On second thought, I don't wanna know.

I guess people are already filing into the venue, I can hear the rumble of a crowd out there. That sound always gets me pumped, knowing the audience is excited and ready for a show. I can't wait to go on tonight, this tour has been great so far. The crowd reactions to the new tracks have been really positive, and that's always a good thing.

Well, I'm getting nudged by Jamie, so it's time to end this. I need to charge this thing up anyway, damn Dans.
